HbA1c in Bloodspots
HbA1c in blood is the preferred measure of long term glycaemic control. Improvement of glycaemic control, as reflected by the near normalisation of HbA1c, prevents the development of microvascular complications in diabetic patients.

Assay features;
Antibody coated tube
125I labelled monoclonal anti-HbA1c
Stable calibrant
Unique stabilising buffer for both elution and lysing
N.B.Whole blood lysed in the stabilising buffer is stable for several months.

Assay valid for samples containing HbA and variants S,C and E Reagents can be used to measure HbA1c in venepuncture (EDTA) samples or blood spots collected on special filter paper.
N.B. HbA1c in blood spots is stable for at least one week at ambient temperature.

Blood spots can be sampled off-site and posted to laboratory for analysis prior to clinic appointment.
